Ariana Grande on Friday shared a video of Mac Miller to Instagram with a caption addressed to the late rapper and her ex-boyfriend. Miller died on Sept. 7, reportedly of an overdose; he was 26.
Shortly after his death, Grande shared a photo of Miller without a caption. The new video post shows Miller trying to tell a story as Grande films him.
“I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19, and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore,” Grande, 25, wrote in the caption. “I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to.”
She continued: “The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re OK now. Rest.”

Miller and Grande dated for nearly two years before splitting up in May. After fans blamed her for Miller’s car wreck and subsequent DUI the same month, Grande issued a Twitter statement saying their relationship was “toxic.”
“I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem,” Grande wrote.
She faced similar vitriol after Miller’s death and blocked Instagram comments from trolls who insisted she was to blame.
