Ariel Winter—the actress known for playing Alex Dunphy on Modern Family—is growing up right before the internet’s peering, critical, and sometimes overly sexualizing eyes.

The 19-year-old posted a video of herself twerking in a storage unit facility Thursday, which quickly racked up over 1 million views and landed on the digital tabloids, including

She quickly addressed would-be naysayers. “It’s supposed to be FUNNY,” she wrote in the caption.

The same day, reported that Winter was “scantily clad” in cut-off denim shorts and a crop top while grocery shopping.

Other recent posts from Winter show her dancing in an underboob-baring top and “working the *peach emoji*”.

But to anyone casting a critical eye, know that Winter has plenty of experience shutting down body shamers, defending her fashion choices, and calling out sexism. She referred to her mom, from whom she’s been emancipated since age 15, as “toxic” for criticizing her wardrobe. Last winter, she defended her right to bare butt to ETOnline.

“Everybody is so hyped up on the fact that I post photos where my butt’s out. It’s a butt. Everyone has a butt,” she said. “I don’t think it’s crazy.”

And at the end of the day, what do all these posts show? That Winter is just a 19-year-old trying to live her best teen life.

To which we say… keep workin’ it, girl.
