‘SNL’ shows meeting between Julian Assange and Trump’s sons, and now it all makes sense

It was revealed this week that WikiLeaks had been in contact with Donald Trump Jr. before the 2016 presidential election, showing that Julian Assange was perhaps more involved in Donald Trump’s election than previously known.

This week, Saturday Night Live took on Assange, the found of WikiLeaks and the man Hillary Clinton called a “tool” for Russia, in its cold open.

With Kate McKinnon portraying Assange, SNL imagines his meeting with Trump Jr. and Eric Trump in a parking lot below the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

In recent months, Alex Moffat has portrayed Eric Trump as a doofus with Trump Jr. (Mikey Day) having to treat him as a father would his less-than-intelligent son. Once again, that was the game here. But with all the recent news that has been released regarding the Trump administration and WikiLeaks, the imagined meeting between the three men now makes complete sense.
