The Difference Between Your Expectations When Buying Clothes Vs. The Reality (8 Pics)

Your body’s a liar. Sure, sometimes it awards you with endorphins and serotonin, but it also has a lot of fun at your expense. Weng Chen, the artist behind The Adventures of Messy Cow, illustrated some of the dirtiest tricks her body has ever pulled on her, and it involves a lot of clothes.

“If you ever cared about losing weight, you must have heard this phrase: Don’t go shopping <…> when you are hungry,” Chen wrote. “But I need to tell you another important thing: don’t buy clothes when you are hungry.”

Because when you’re hungry, you might get the illusion that you’ve lost weight. “I often get this illusion,” she added. “I feel my belly empty and my legs weak, [and] I associate this feeling with being THIN. Then, like a whirlwind, there comes an unstoppable urge of shopping for new clothes.”

“When browsing online, the emptier your stomach is, the more you relate to the models <…>, the problem is that the empty belly you put down your orders with, gets full when you receive them.”

Here are some of the fashion pits Weng has fallen into when she was hungry. And after you’re done enjoying these, check out her hilarious fart guide that is a must read for every couple that sleeps in the same bed.
