Watch Meghan Markle as a briefcase girl on ‘Deal or No Deal’

Long before she met and got engaged to Prince Harry, beginning her journey to royalty, Meghan Markle was a briefcase model on the second season of NBC’s game show Deal or No Deal.

Markle was in 34 episodes of the show between 2006 and 2007, and she was assigned to briefcase No. 24 for the majority of her time there. In the show, contestants select a case and one-by-one open the other cases for a process of elimination, revealing amounts from $1 to the grand prize of $1 million.

In 2013, Markle told Esquire her case was never chosen as the winner.

“I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go sit down,” she said.

Markle said she landed the Deal or No Deal gig while she was auditioning and trying to make ends meet.

Although in the Esquire interview Markle was eager to skip talking about her game show days, Markle’s glo up gives hope to anyone who has dreamed of royal life.

Here are a few clips of Markle as a case model on the show:

Before taking over briefcase No. 24, Markle did two episodes of the game as the model for No. 11 and one episode as the No. 12 model.

In a May 2018 video by Inside Edition, some of Markle’s fellow briefcase models say they are happy for Markle and Prince Harry.

Now that she’s on her way to joining the royal family, Markle can put her briefcase modeling days behind her.
