People are destroying YETI coolers because the company cut ties with the NRA

Some people are smashing their expensive YETI coolers because the company cut ties with the National Rife Association (NRA).

Earlier this week the company said it was “eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs” including its deal with the NRA. The NRA then blasted the cooler company in a letter on its website accusing them of “declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities” for discontinuing the program.

YETI called the NRA letter “inaccurate.”

YETI joined several organizations, including the airliner Delta, that have cut ties with the NRA in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Just like those other companies, gun enthusiasts have decided to take action into their own hands regarding the product.

One video, which has more than 158,000 views on YouTube, says it was participating in the #YetiCoolerChallenge in an effort to #SupportTheNRA.

“YETI does not support the NRA. So we do not support YETI,” two woman say in the video, which shows two women firing guns and blowing up the coolers (wh,ich retail between $250 and $350, according to their website).

Other people, like a man in this video, decided to crush a YETI tumbler in a vice. And “Joe” decided to shoot a YETI coffee mug in response to the company’s decision to cut ties with the NRA.

One guy even decided to cut the YETI logo off his hat because of the announcement.

Basically, all of this seems like a great way to waste a bunch of money.
