Police pull over guy who tied an iPhone and tablet to his steering wheel

The lengths people will go in order to stay connected never ceases to amaze us, but this latest incident takes things to the next level.

Police in Vancouver pulled over a man who tied his iPhone and Android tablet to his steering wheel. Ignoring the disjointed gadget ecosystem for a moment, this jerry-rigged contraption is an accident waiting to happen. To make matters worse, the man was driving a manual vehicle.

Amazingly, he wasn’t given a ticket for distracted driving and only had to pay $81 for not being able to produce his driver’s license.

“Just when I think I’ve seen everything, a photo like this is captured by one of our officers,” Vancouver Police Department spokesman Const. Jason Doucette told the Vancouver Sun. “We are reminding drivers to leave their devices alone while behind the wheel. And although our officer felt education was appropriate in this incident.”

Who knew, even Canadian police are unreasonably nice.
